Countdown

Today marks 2 months until the big day. Time is Flying By!

Invitation Accessories

Since we are still waiting for our invitations, I thought I would share some extra pieces that will be part of the invite. But first, I have to share the history of how we got to this point with the invitations...

Pretty much from the beginning I had a plan for our invitations -- I was going to design and print them at home. In a very very early post, I shared that I really liked the pocketfold invitations -- probably because I'm an extreme type A and the pocketfolds would keep everything organized. Well, flash forward to June and we're sitting in our 2nd bedroom discussing the invites. I shared with Justin my thoughts/plans and he just wasnt really fond of the idea of us printing them. He wanted to have them printed professionally. So right then and there we decided to have them printed by someone else, but were still going to include the pocketfold. I quickly searched for somewhere that would be able to do what we wanted in the very very short time frame we had created. Luckily, I came across Twin Ravens Press and Kristin was a life saver... but I'll share that in another invite post.

After all the work had been done, the files sent to Kristin and I pulled the trigger for printing, I realized that I had missed a small detail. I approved a size envelope that wouldnt fit the pocketfolds we wanted to use. And I wasnt going to pay 3x the normal amount for special ones. So I decided to go without the pocketfold, but I didnt want our invites to just sit in the envelope. What's the next best thing?!?! belly bands.

Another little touch I wanted to add were envelope liners. Our invites are very simple, so I wanted something that would add a little something. CardsandPockets has pre-cut liners and you can even create your own. I selected the pearl paper with a flourish design printed in Pansy. The belly bands are plain Pansy to tie it all together.

Wanna see what they look like?

I cant wait to get our invites -- should be this week -- so I can put it all together.

Time to Shower

Last week, I received this in the mail.

Yep, that's an invitation to my Bridal Shower hosted by my wonderful MOH!

When Melissa first started thinking about the shower, she asked me if there was anything I wanted or would like. I told her 2 things: 1) no silly games and 2) I liked the theme Around the Clock.

If you havent been to an Around the Clock Shower (which I havent, but I really want to), each invited guest is given a time of day and their gift should (but doesnt have to) correspond to something you can do at that time. For Example: The time on my invite is 3pm. When I think of 3pm, the first thing that comes to mind is snack time. So I might gift someone a basket full of snacking goodies: crackers, cheese, maybe a bottle of wine and some glasses, a cookbook of appetizers, etc.

I'm really hoping that some take the idea and run with it. I love creative/personal gifts.
